What are Dental Vouchers?

If you are on the waiting list for public dental treatment, you may be offered a voucher to be used at a private dental practice. This new Queensland Health scheme can give eligible public dental patients on a waiting list in Queensland the option to have procedures done by a private dentist.

Aperture Dental Practice has an agreement with Metro South Oral Health Services (MSHOHS) to accept government vouchers. Vouchers provided by MSHOHS are either to the value of :

  • $260 for emergency treatment, or
  • $750 for general dental services

Am I Eligible?

For adults to be eligible for the vouchers, you must be a Queensland resident, and where applicable, in receipt of benefits from:

  • Pensioner Concession Card issued by the Department of Veteran’s Affairs or CentreLink
  • Health Care Card
  • Commonwealth Seniors Health Card
  • Queensland Seniors Card

If you are eligible, all of your dependents named on the card are also eligible for free public dental care.

Also eligible is any child in the guardianship of the Director-General, Department of Families, Youth and Community Care.

I am eligible. What do I do now?

If you fulfil the criteria above, you should contact your nearest Queensland Oral Health Service Facility on 1300 300 850. You will need to present yourself to the Oral Health clinic to collect your voucher. Remember to bring your proof of identification with you. You will be given a voucher and a list of clinics participating in this Dental Voucher Program.
