Teeth Whitening Treatment by Aperture Dental
There are so many things that contribute to our teeth becoming stained and many of them are unavoidable. Some of the most common reasons our teeth discolour include consuming our favourite food and drinks, ageing and smoking. The term whitening is actually misleading as the process involves the removal of stains deep within the tooth itself as opposed to recolouring the tooth as is suggested. The process is also known as bleaching and can be used on either one tooth or an entire set.
A single tooth is usually whitened when it has experienced trauma, is decayed or is being root-treated. So, when a single tooth is treated the bleach is placed within the tooth as opposed to around and whitens the tooth from the inside out.
After this, the bleaching agent can be sealed until the tooth has been sufficiently whitened. When whitening all your teeth at once, our take-home treatments make use of a customised tray that is inserted for an hour a day over the course of two to three weeks at your own discretion. These bleach trays are a more cost-effective method and come with the added convenience of being able to be applied at your leisure.
They do, however, take longer to show results and will be more gradual but they will be noticeable. If you don’t see any change in the brightness of your teeth after these methods, it is possible that you may need to consider veneers or crowns.

The treatment makes use of an in-office lamp system with a variable intensity setting that can be customised to maximise the patient’s comfort for the duration of the procedure. The system also desensitises your teeth as well as protecting your enamel.
It is supervised and clinically proven to be an effective whitening treatment that will brighten your teeth by up to eight shades! The entirety of the procedure is around two hours and the bleaching agent used is several times stronger than that of the bleach used in the take-home whitening trays. This means that your teeth are able to be brightened more and in a much shorter period of time.
